The changeable edit - with Awura Abena

Who are you and what do you do?
I'm Awura, born and raised in Amsterdam. With a background as an IP lawyer, entrepeneur, and former deputy editor-in-chief at Cosmopolitan, I now work as a freelancer, specialized in soft skills like presenting, networking, and selling. I work with brands like Samsung, companies like Deloitte, and schools like Rotterdam Business School.
How changeable is your life?
I'd describe my life as unpredictable, but at the same time there's a lot of routine. One week I'm preparing for a training that takes three days, the next week I'm hosting three events across different locations in the country. In between projects, I'm often abroad. 50% for vacation (like a week in Paris, Marrakech, or NYC), and 50% for work (from press trips to international assignments). Even before freelancing, I used to travel a lot. On average, around 10 trips a year.
What's one thing you never change?
My Saturdays are always work-free. A ritual since my first job as a lawyer. It's my wat of resetting for for the week ahead. On Sundays, I usually work a half day to prep for Monday.
How would you describe your style? And has it changed over the years?
Currently: minimalistic, chic, and uniform-like. When I was an entrepeneur, I wore a lot of color and often bold prints. In my law days, 80% of my wardrobe was black-on-black. Now, I stick to white, grey, and black (often mixed), or colors with a cool undertone.
Where do you like to take your changeable Voyae bag? And what's always in your bag?
I'd like to take my bag to my workspace outside the house. I always bring my phone, laptop, earpods, charger, hand sanitizer, perfume, deodorant, lip gloss, and hair ties. This Voyae bag is perfect for that, with all its compartments inside.
