The changeable edit - with Florine Duif

Who are you and what do you do?
My name is Florine, and I live in The Hague with my husband and our three beautiful children. I work as a communications specialist, constellation therapist, and author of three books (my latest book ‘Moedig Genoeg’ will be released in January 2026). I also have a strong fascination with fashion and lifestyle. Although these pursuits might seem quite different, the common thread is always the same: conveying a message and making something visible.
What inspired you to start the work you’re doing now?
It has been a 12-year entrepreneurial journey. I’ve done all sorts of things: running a catering business, creating my own magazine, starting different webshops, working with investors, and even coming close to bankruptcy. You try and you learn. Above all, it has given me a lot of knowledge about what I do want, but especially about what I don’t want. Now I feel more grounded, calmer, and stronger. As if I don’t have to work as hard for it anymore. There’s a growing sense of trust, I think.
How changeable is your life?
As I mentioned before, my life is very changeable when it comes to work. I also like to travel, whether it’s exploring big international cities or escaping to the sun for a few days. I even make sure to organize events abroad, like the ‘Moedig Genoeg’ dinners connected to my book. At the same time, I dream of a home in the English countryside, with a vegetable garden, a dog, and plenty of peace and quiet. I’ve always carried those two opposites within me. I may appear extroverted, but I equally value solitude.
How do you juggle everything in your busy life?
I’ve learned that trying to keep all the balls in the air is an illusion. I know what it’s like to be a perfectionist, but it doesn’t serve me. Take our oldest, who just started secondary school. There’s loads of homework and sports to schedule. I want to plan everything perfectly and stay in control, but that’s not realistic. For her, or for me. Letting go is still a work in progress.
How would you describe your style? And has it changed over the years?
My style is much like my introverted/extroverted duality. I love oversized blazers with feathered sleeves, but I can also appreciate a simple pair of trousers or jeans with a white blouse and a subtle piece of jewelry. When I see something I quickly feel whether it fits my style or not. Clothing is like energy, it never lies.
Where do you like to take your changeable Voyae bag? And what’s always in your bag?
When I travel! What I love about the bag is that you can slide it over your suitcase handles, and the pocket for your passport is so handy. My bag always contains a paper planner. Very old-fashioned, I know.
